Dear Committee,

Thank you so much for all the work you did to make the reunion such a success.  I cannot imagine that my class, Chula Vista (California) School class of 1965, will do such a good job.  Actually the truth is, I cannot imagine they will all be as kind and considerate of Eddie as you all were of me.  Eddie says you are Minnesota nice and I found that to be true.

The events were all so carefully planned and perfectly executed, starting with the picnic at the farm and the thoughtful memorial service.  Every time I drifted to a new group of people, I felt welcome and had a great conversation.  The tour Saturday morning gave me a new slant on Minneapolis, a la Washburn.  The moon rose over a beautiful setting for dinner and cake Saturday night.

Your hard work and effort pulled off a spectacular event. What a classy class!

Hi, First I would like to say what a GREAT reunion it was. Everything was done perfectly. The dinner at Minikahda and the setting alone, were spectacular! It was so fun to see everyone and the book that was put together was beyond belief. I just have one thing I would like to say. I played on the girls golf team and we won city championships at least twice. I was awarded a letter as were my teammates. There wasn't a mention of any girls sports in the book. I'm sure there were other sports, swimming, tennis etc. that gals won letters in. Just thought I would mention it. Thanks again for a terrific time.

To the entire reunion committee:

What a great weekend you all put together!!!
The event at Myron's was a perfect venue for everyone to get reacquainted. Great weather and lots of space to roam around along with ample time to visit. And of course it would be difficult to find a better location than the Minikahda Club for the dinner evening. As we all get more time and experience behind us it becomes better every time we all get together.
Being a procrastinator, I never got my act together and sent in something for the memories book. So, here goes for what it's worth now.

After a five year stint at 3M in St Paul I went back to school and got a BS degree from Univ. Wisconsin 1972 with a major in Economics.

Married Lois in 1970, have two children Krista and Bryan. Bryan is married and has a 5 year old daughter and a 10 month old son. It's wonderful to have and enjoy those grandchildren.

My career was mainly at Andersen Windows in Marketing for 27 years retiring at 59 1/2. We also have a manufacturing company in Florida so I'm not really retired. We live in Woodbury MN part of the year and also have a condo on Clearwater Beach in Florida the rest of the year. Rather than being able to play golf down there in the winter I go into the office most days and do stuff that needs to be done. I guess I thrive on being busy as it is very rare to have a day with nothing to do. I do try to spend as much time as I can with my photography. Still do some darkroom work with black and white film but my digital camera keeps calling me to the new age of fine photos.

LOST but now FOUND == Muriel McCarty Maskalans

Driving from Duluth to her home north of Mpls, she saw a billboard about a company that was celebrating 50 years in business - 1960 to present. That sighting caused her to figure she was 50 years out of Washburn and Googled "Washburn 1960" to find our web site and the fact she was "Lost" and had missed the reunion event.

Congratulations to the Washburn 50th Reunion Committee for putting together and pulling off an extraordinary event. The Friday night picnic, the Saturday bus tour and the Minnekada Country Club dinner were all terrific and will be remembered for years.

Dear Reunion Committee Members,
A big thank you for the wonderful reunion you put together.  It was a fabulous event, beautifully planned down to the last detail.  I enjoyed every minute of the entire weekend.  The picnic was wonderful.  The casual picnic atmosphere was great for catching up with people we hadn’t seen in a very long time.  The picnic location was beautiful, perfect for the gathering.  The bus trip with Bonnie’s brother leading it was wonderful, just wonderful.  The evening at the country club was also very lovely.  Planning this Big Reunion was a heck of a lot of work; just contacting all those people is a ton of work.  I was one of those people fortunate enough to have additional reunions with fellow Girl Scout troop members and a childhood friend all that same weekend.  It was a lot of fun and will be something delightful to reflect back on.  Thank you all so much for making it happen!!!
